Vehicle Description Many automotive designers have called the 1941 Cadillac models one of the most cherished of American automobiles in history.
The 1941 Cadillac line up of models was Bill Mitchell's first renowned project.
He got his start in the General Motors Art and Color studio in 1935 at just 23 years old.
Since that time, he has become very well-known for many great automotive designs and concepts.
For 1941, Cadillac sales hit a new record with almost 60,000 models sold.
The 1941 Cadillac models established the company as an automotive status symbol.
Designers used a front-end styling that was repeated for years to come.
The introduction of the horizontal grille with egg-crate texture was by GM designer Arthur Ross.
The frame was redesigned for a smoother ride on different roads.
The bodies had a new appearance with headlights built into the nose of fenders and underneath the lights were a place for built-in fog lights.
If a car was ordered without those fog lights, the openings would be covered by a round chrome ornament with the Cadillac V emblem in the center.
The side of the hood now was adorned with a rectangular panel of louver trim.
All four fenders featured the three chrome spears.
This is a very pretty 1941 Series 62 coupe.
Only 24,734 Series 62 models were built, and that number includes all four models.
This is a rare collector car.
The exterior is Valcour Maroon.
The paint is very good quality.
All chrome and trim are in excellent condition.
All emblems, glass, and lights are in above average condition.
Body is straight and solid.
The interior of this Deluxe Coupe has room for the driver and three passengers, or maybe even 4 as the back seat is roomy.
The bench seats are gray wool broadcloth.
The door panels feature leather on the lower portion of the door.
This was done so that foot contact did not mark up the door panels.
The woodgrain dash is excellent and features the standard gauges.
Auxiliary gauges are set to the left of the steering column.
An AM radio is in the center of the dash and the clock that matches the speedometer is on the passenger side of the dash.
Also included was a cigarette lighter.
Engine is the 346 CID L-head on a cast iron cylinder block.
This is a strong V8 engine and was and still is, very durable and reliable.
The use of hydraulic lifters gave Cadillac the distinct reputation of having very quiet and smooth engines.
Transmission is the selective synchromesh manual trans.
This gorgeous classic Cadillac has many desirable features including fender skirts, heater, and radio.
Miles is believed to be actual miles.
This is a great antique Cadillac and one that wont disappoint.
It is in Kentucky, and it is available for viewing by serious buyers only.
