Vehicle Description This is a very rare 10th Anniversary Firebird Code Y89.
Only 1,817 Anniversary models were produced for the 1979 year.
Pontiac built the Anniversary model to celebrate the success of the Trans AM.
It is a well sought-after muscle car for the serious collector.
The distinct feature of this model is the iconic Screaming Chicken detailed with red and black on the hood.
The Y89 cars came equipped with the WS6 handling package that included stiff rear leaf springs, front and rear anti-roll bar, rear disc brakes, nylon end-link bushings, firm dampers, and a steering box with fixed ratio.
This Firebird is a great project for the restoration lover.
The car is still in very good condition.
Body is straight and solid.
The paint has patina that adds to the originality and authenticity as it is original.
The Screaming Chicken looks great too.
Whether to paint it or not is a personal preference.
The mirrored T-Tops are also in great condition and just need a good cleaning.
The interior is a bit rough, however, there is a new interior kit that comes with the sale of this car.
The dash trim and gauges are in excellent condition.
Car came with power windows and bucket seats.
Engine is the original 400 CID paired with an automatic transmission.
The engine does turn over.
