Job Description

Position: Music Instructor on Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals, and or Drum Set



  • Candidate(s) must be able to play and teach three of the following instruments listed above all at a moderate to advanced level.

  • Able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week or more.

  • With room to grow within, we'd like to hire a long-term who is also interested in growing with us. Expanding your role and hours over time.

Experience with music instruction and working with groups of kids ages 5-18 as well as 21+ adults is preferred but not required.

Instructors should first and foremost inspire and encourage students along their musical journey by sharing their passion for music. Instructors should act as role models for students, as well as taking an active interest in their students' progress and musical interests.


All SoR instructors' actions and communications need to be viewed through the lens of being a role model to our students. Instructors need to conduct themselves in public with that in mind at all times. Music faculty members are responsible for:

  • Assuring student safety: mandatory reporting, respect, and compliance with SoR safety training policies.

  • Holding weekly lessons w/students: help students learn songs; teach proper technique on their instrument; develop the students' knowledge of music theory; encourage them along their musical journey.

  • Assisting on season shows.

  • Communicating with students' parents frequently, either face-to-face at the beginning/end of the lesson.

  • Communicating with other staff members regarding schedule, student progress in lessons and on shows, Rock 101, etc.

  • Getting and staying up to speed on SoR curriculum and tools for teaching, tracking student progress, etc.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
